The Consultative Institute for Socio-Economic Development of Rural and Mountainous Areas (CISDOMA) collaborated with the Northern Mountainous Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute (NOMAFSI) to compile the document “Guideline Document on Some Techniques Applied in Agroecological Production.” The document consists of 2 parts:
Part I quotes the article “Developing Agroecology, Organizing Production According to the Value Chain” by Central Committee Member, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development LE MINH HOAN, published in the Communist Magazine on September 28, 2022.
Part II provides practical guidance on implementing 10 techniques applied in agroecological production, such as:
- Making biological pesticides from ginger, garlic, and chili;
- Mixing feed for chickens and pigs;
- Creating biological bedding (deep litter) in raising chickens, pigs, and cattle;
- Raising earthworms (vermiculture) as feed for poultry and for processing livestock manure;
- Silage making of green forage for cattle;
- Composting organic fertilizer from livestock waste and straw.
The document was compiled within the framework of the Project “Strengthening Resilience for Poor Communities through Climate Change Adaptive Livelihoods in Tam Duong District,” funded by Bread for the World and the Action on Poverty organization. The project is implemented by the Consultative Institute for Socio-Economic Development of Rural and Mountainous Areas and the Management Board of Community Development Programs of Tam Duong District from 2022 to 2025 in 06 communes: Binh Lu, Khun Ha, Ban Bo, Ho Thau, Giang Ma, and Ban Giang.
