The project “Agroecology for Sustainable Landscapes to Reduce Poverty for Ethnic Minorities in the Northern Mountains,” abbreviated as the A4P project, aims to contribute to the sustainable stabilization of livelihoods for poor ethnic minorities through an agroecological approach with the active participation of male and female farmers in establishing and maintaining highly resilient agroecological landscapes.
The main target groups of the project: H’Mong people in Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province, and Muong people in Kim Boi district, Hoa Binh province. Project implementation period: 48 months, from 9/2021 to 8/2025 The project budget comes from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through Bread for the World (BftW); the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) through the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF), and the Danish Forestry Extension through The Consultative Institute for Socio-Economic Development of Rural and Mountainous Areas (CISDOMA).
Within the framework of the project “Agroecology for Sustainable Landscapes to Reduce Poverty for Ethnic Minorities in the Northern Mountains” (A4P project), from 2022 to early 2023, CISDOMA coordinated with the World Agroforestry Centre in Vietnam (ICRAF) to implement various activities, including a Training of Trainers (TOT) course on Agroecology for 26 staff representing the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARDs), Agricultural Extension Centers, and Women’s Unions from Hoa Binh and Yen Bai provinces; a training course on group formation for project area residents in Tram Tau district, Yen Bai; and a training course on measuring crop growth and development in Kim Boi district, Hoa Binh.
