On May 18, 2021, nearly 120 delegates participated in the multilateral dialogue on sustainable food systems, jointly organized by the Netherlands Food Partnership, Rabobank, Wageningen University, VNO NCW, Oxfam Novib, the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At this forum, the representative from CISDOMA shared a Case Study on cooperation models of smallholder farmers to enhance agricultural land use efficiency and ensure food security. This dialogue was an activity within the framework of a series of preparatory events for the United Nations Food Systems Summit (UN FSS 2021) which will take place in September 2021.
The multilateral dialogue included 7 discussion sessions on related topics such as: 1) seed systems, 2) food loss and waste, 3) digitalization, 4) access to nutritious food, 5) finance, 6) responsible business, and 7) natural resource management. At this dialogue, delegates from around the world presented examples, shared practical recommendations, focused on achievements, challenges, and discussed opportunities for expanding multilateral platforms, contributing to systemic change to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG 2).
