On September 15, 2023, the Consultative Institute for Socio-Economic Development of Rural and Mountainous Areas (CISDOMA) coordinated with the Center for Research and Consulting on Employment and Self-Funded Study Abroad – Da Nang University to simultaneously organize the 2023 Student Initiatives Promoting Gender Equality Award Ceremony and the Seminar “Gender Bias in Startup Activities” at the Da Nang University of Education, Da Nang University.

The Award Ceremony and Seminar were attended by guests including:

  • Mr. Dao Ngoc Ninh – Project Manager, Deputy Director of the Consultative Institute for Socio-Economic Development of Rural and Mountainous Areas (CISDOMA).
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Minh Quan – Deputy Head of the Student Affairs Department, Director of the Center for Research and Consulting on Employment and Self-Funded Study Abroad – Da Nang University.
  • Mr. Nguyen Viet Hai Hiep, M.A. – Secretary of the Youth Union, Deputy Head of the Student Affairs Office, Da Nang University of Education.

The speakers at the event included:

  • Mr. Vo Duc Anh – Deputy Director of the Da Nang City Center for Supporting Innovation Startups.
  • Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha Thu – Head of the Family, Society – Economy Board, Da Nang City Women’s Union.
  • Mr. Le Kim Giao – General Director of Hung Vuong Education Investment and Development Co., Ltd., Co-leader of the Creative Students and Pupils Village, Techfest VietNam.

The event attracted a large number of students, with approximately 570 participants from various schools under Da Nang University. Four youth initiatives by Da Nang University students were selected for awards and implementation funding, including:

During the Seminar, the speakers discussed and presented their viewpoints, and answered questions from students regarding the opportunities and challenges for women in innovative startup activities, thereby providing students with additional knowledge and experience in the field of innovative entrepreneurship.
